It has been some time, but we finally were able to get the rights back to our film from the distributor, updated the artwork per Joe Dante's suggestions and is now up on Amazon.com for rental and purchase. Thanks to Tony Yates our amazing designer who pulled everything together for us. Hope you will check it out. If you are a fan of Robert Picardo's work, you will love him in this chilling thriller!
It was a very good market this year with many buyers opening their checkbooks and buying films. Attendance was up by 6% and the number of buyers rose 1 percent to 664 from 658 last year.

I spent a lot of time networking at the pool and finally had the opportunity to meet Beth from SPF who has been handling the replication of our DVD's. She knows everyone and introduced me to some other producers which lead to finding companies that design DVD covers, Video On Demand resources and marketing material designers.

Our Rep is following up with leads from France, Italy, Germany and others and we hope that our film will be seen in other countries very soon. The Filmmakershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06667249150635003191noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1954842986797703535.post-77898720384259382332010-08-20T12:09:00.000-07:002010-08-20T12:11:51.524-07:00Sensored and Imagination: A Movie ReviewHere is a another great review on Sensored from Michael Allen over at 28 Days Later. The Filmmakershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06667249150635003191noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1954842986797703535.post-87393358551032222922010-07-13T13:43:00.001-07:002010-07-13T13:47:46.192-07:00Sensored now available on YouTube.comYou can now watch Sensored instantly on your computer for 48 hours for just $3.99 rental. At times simple, at times complex; it will leave you guessing right up to the end. Unlike most movies in this genre, you can watch it several times and still be surprised at what you uncover - it is anything but formulaic. If you're looking for a movie that captivates you from the start and has you both amused and confused, this is your movie. You'll appreciate the complexity of the story and the fact that it's not just another "run-of-the-mill" pshyco-drama.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie!!!The Filmmakershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06667249150635003191noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1954842986797703535.post-29650614730092504842010-06-14T16:15:00.000-07:002010-06-14T16:17:52.294-07:00Sensored at the Cannes Film MarketWe thought we would share a picture from the Cannes Film Market that was taken by our partner, Wonderphil Productions. A huge shout out to Russell Hess for all of his hard work promoting the film for us since we could not attend. We also want to thank Joe Belcastro for a great review of our film for the Tampa Movie Examiner. You realize that even though this film was done on such a low budget, the only thing that matters is what is on the screen in the end. No critic or audience member cares how much it did or didn't cost to make. They just want to be entertained. It looks like we might of accomplished just that.

Posted using ShareThisThe Filmmakershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06667249150635003191noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1954842986797703535.post-50419528220338761352010-02-18T21:11:00.000-08:002010-02-18T21:15:02.138-08:00First Amazon.com Customer Review of 'Sensored'We wanted to thank Tooloose Lowtrek "KrimeKrooKrow" from Northern California who gave our film 5 stars and took the time to write the following review:
"this is probably the most intelligent psyche thriller I've seen in years. Caught it at the sacramento film festival. Creates it's own sick and perverted world that
tests the viewer's own judgement and discernment. Either way it is demented beyond belief and very very creatively imagined and fleshed out."The Filmmakershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06667249150635003191noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1954842986797703535.post-43589809245462030432010-02-17T11:35:00.000-08:002010-02-17T12:23:08.729-08:00Deliverables For DistributionPreparing for distribution and all the materials and deliverable items that come along with it can be daunting. I would recommend starting this process in pre-production. Items that are requirements, require planning from the beginning of the film-making process. For example, DVD extras such as behind-the-scenes, interviews and director commentary used to be a nice to have. Now, they are expected and will be part of your materials list to the distributor. This has to be planned for in pre-production so you have a crew that can film on set while you are filming. You cannot go back after production wraps. Also, you want to take advantage of your talent while they are on location for interviews as you won't have the luxury later. People move on to other projects and you want to get them while they are going through the process. Still photography is also really important. I have made the mistake too many times, not having a person dedicated to this role. You will be required to provide at least 50 high-resolution stills and for us working in the digital world, we always say we can just pull tiffs from the actual footage. This isn't the best strategy as someone has to actually take the time to go through terabytes of footage, pick the clips, color correct which all takes an enormous amount of time. Easier to pay a professional photographer upfront. Some of the other items to be prepared for are cast and crew list, above-the-line bios, synopsis, graphic art materials, music clearances, copyright, audio files and a master of your film. It is a lot of work, but very rewarding when you have a chance for your work to be on store shelves and seen in multiple languages in many parts of the world. The Filmmakershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06667249150635003191noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1954842986797703535.post-75983475885778133602010-02-11T11:09:00.000-08:002010-02-11T11:14:38.804-08:00Sensored partnering with Wonderphil ProductionsWe just signed on with Wonderphil Productions to represent our film at many of the major film/TV markets coming up. Every distributor is different, but we wanted to get a head start on making sure we have things together like our publicity items (Still photos, press releases, TV spots, deleted scenes, posters, postcards, artwork, ect.), documentation items (Final shooting script, chain of title, credit block, ect.) cast and crew lists and the lists upon lists that continues on. I digressed. It is interesting to revisit these original storyboards from our first teaser we shot to help show investors our vision. This was way back in 2007 and for those of you that have seen the film, you'll agree that many of the shots Ryan put in these storyboards, ended up in the final cut of the film.

These were created long before we knew we would be shooting on the RED camera, before we knew Robert Picardo would be Wade Mixon and before the excitement of having a finished film with great visuals, actors that brought it, original music and a 5.1 Dolby surround sound mix. It is fun to look back to the past, while dreaming of the future. In all, “Sensored” shot 19 days on the property.

The couple previously shot a short film in Auburn called “A Bullet Over Five” that made use of locations like the High Street Café.

Haskin grew up in Penryn and attended Del Oro High School. With 16-hour days and film lights squirreled away in her bedroom for the next day’s shoot, Haskin said she’s never brought her work home quite like the way she did for “Sensored.” It’s being screened at the 10th annual Sacramento Film and Music Festival.

The moviemaking couple is already working on a new film. The next one will be a drama and they’re moving toward hiring an Academy Award winner and an Academy Award nominee for acting roles.

The Filmmakershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06667249150635003191noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1954842986797703535.post-68918961290964951372009-07-13T21:30:00.000-07:002009-07-13T21:32:14.982-07:00Press Release hits the wire!
Sacramento, CA, July 13, 2009 --(PR.com)-- KeJo Productions, LLC today announced the feature film, “Sensored,” starring Robert Picardo (Star Trek Voyager, Stargate: Atlantis), will have a star-studded screening at the 10th Annual Sacramento Film and Music Festival on Friday, July 24th, 8:00PM at the Crest Theatre.

“Sensored” is a dramatic thriller, which captures the steady unraveling of a children’s book author’s twisted, lurid psyche.
